When was christ reborn
Jonas is the New Testament version of the name Jonah, whose story is recorded in the Old Testament book bearing his name. Understanding the events surrounding the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ is critical to being a true Christian. Several important aspects of Matthew should be honestly evaluated. The first and perhaps most crucial is contained in verse 40, where Jesus clearly and specifically stated that He would be buried for three days and three nights.
Is that what your church teaches? Or have you been taught the fable about a Friday crucifixion and Sunday morning resurrection? Try counting the number of nights and days for yourself. From Friday until Sunday morning, you will only find two nights and one day, not three of each. Jesus said He would be in the earth for three days and three nights as proof He is the Son of God. So, now what do you do? How can you call Jesus the Son of God if His own words disprove it?
How has the Friday to Sunday myth come to be taught and believed so universally? First, religious leaders point to the fact that Jesus was crucified the day before a sabbath day. Then they wrongly conclude it means He was killed on a Friday, since the Bible calls Saturday the Sabbath. As an aside, this proves that those same religious leaders know Saturday is the biblical Sabbath we are commanded to keep holy in the Fourth Commandment.
They overlook the fact that it was actually an annual sabbath, as we will see. Matthew , Satan, who has worked at deceiving mankind for 6, years Revelation , is the one behind this deception. These religious leaders who claim that Jesus was killed Friday afternoon and resurrected Sunday morning, totaling one day and two nights in the tomb, are—by denying the only sign Jesus gave of His Messiahship—actually denying Christ.
Your Bible proves that the murder of Jesus occurred on Wednesday, April 25, in the year a. It also proves that the resurrection of Jesus occurred at sunset on Saturday evening, April 28, not at sunrise on Sunday.
This was just before the spring holy days in Israel. The Passover and the annual sabbath day called the first day of Unleavened Bread were just ahead. The annual sabbaths are listed in Leviticus Jesus was having His disciples prepare for the passover, which is not a holy day, but is a sacred service.
It is not the Passover of the Jews, as so many churches teach today. Continue reading through Mark 14, and the events and timing become clear. It is also recorded beginning in Matthew 26, Luke 22 and John Jesus and His disciples partook of the Passover in the evening, then went to the garden where Jesus prayed. In the night, Jesus was taken prisoner by a band of men from the chief priests and Pharisees.
This was in the night, following the Passover. Each issue of Biblical Archaeology Review features lavishly illustrated and easy-to-understand articles such as:. The All-Access membership pass is the way to get to know the Bible through biblical archaeology. It may be the case that this Gospel was written in two parts — and — by two different authors, or from two different traditions.
Jesus died upon the Cross at the ninth daylight hour on March 23, A. This de facto fell on a Wednesday, the 14th of Nisan, in a properly reckoned calendar because those who with Bachelors who write the Software, such as at NASA, screw it up.
It is at this time that we are in the twilight zone in which the days change, a time of erev or disorder as we find implied in Genesis 1. Jesus was buried from Tzais HaKochavim Wednesday night now the 15th of Nisan through Thursday night now the 16th , through Friday night now the 17th , through to Saturday night now the 18th : three nights and three days. In all likelihood, He rose again from the dead in the third watch of the night. Jesus was indeed in the earth for an entire three nights and three days.
Therefore, there is no discrepency in the Gospel accounts: none. At such a point as Alos HaShacar, Jesus had long since arisen, probably at about 3 am, such as when the Apostles on the Sea of Galilee once thought Him a ghost walking upon the water. Polybius Book 6. Therefore, we are able to isolate a time of about am for the appearance of the women at the tomb, and the arrival of the apostles as likely between 5amam…the times being very general and approximate.
I can daydream about those sundials on the wrists of the people in the first century. As I understand it, the regular Saturday Sabbath would not have had a formal preparation day. Everyone took the routine in stride. This reference to a preparation day was likely preparation for the special sabbath, the Feast of Unleavened Bread 15th of Nisan which did not necessarily fall on Saturday.
Hence, the crucifixion was not necessarily on Friday. Perhaps it was Thursday. This would have been Nisan 14, the usual day that the Passover Lamb was slain. Just some thoughts…. As someone who majored in Latin in college, may I add that when ancient Romans counted days, they included both the starting day and the closing day. So, Jesus was crucified on a Friday, the first day, remained in the tomb through Saturday, the second day, and rose on Sunday morning, the third day.

According to ancient Babylonian and Chinese astronomical annals, that date is 3 April AD 33 on the Julian calendar and 1 April AD 33 on our calendar, which corresponds to the Passover date of 14 Nisan of that year. Ware's research. Is my faith destroyed if we find that we're off a year? Of course not. But my faith is based on a real historical event as recorded in scripture, not spiritual feelings.
