A little past the winery you will come into the township of Glossop. Although one of the smaller towns of South Australia's Riverland region, Glossop is home of a gallery of Australian Aboriginal art. There are also two petrol stations, a motel with 11 comfortable ensuite units, sparkling swimming pool, shaded barbecue area and guest laundry. There are a couple of hardware shops and a number of religious centres servicing the region including a Sikh temple and the Riverland Christian Church.
The town was named after Vice Admiral J. An anchor situated out the front of the motel is a memorial to this commander.
