Where is september in fringe
September played by Michael Cerveris , often referred to as The Observer, is a mysterious figure seen at the scene of many Pattern-related events. Like other Observers that have appeared on the show, September is only seen wearing a plain black suit and black fedora, and is pale, bald, and lacks eyebrows. They exhibit several strange mannerisms such as awkward phrasing when talking, a preference for extremely flavored, like spicy or salty foods due to an extremely dulled sense of taste, and the ability to appear or disappear when one looks away.
They also use an alien written language with which they maintain copious documentation in small notebooks. Though the Fringe division is aware of the Observers, their intent is not yet known, though believed to be related to the Machine and the conflict between the two universes.
They possess uniquely advanced technology, and appear to be temporally aware of time, including the ability to travel in time and between the two universes; the Fringe division finds evidence of Observers at several historical events but looking the same as they do in the present.
Like September, the other Observers appear to be named after months, including "August" and "December". The episode "Inner Child" introduces the Fringe division to a child that appears to possess many Observer-like qualities. In the episode "Peter", September is a catalyst in Walter's abduction of Peter from the parallel universe; September arrived wanting to see the creation of the cure by Walternate that would have saved Peter, but instead distracted Walternate from witnessing a critical test result.
When September saw Walter watching through the window-like device, he informed his fellow Observers that he could correct the situation; later, after Walter returned with young Peter to the prime universe and fell through the frozen lake's ice, September rescued them from the freezing water and told Walter, "The child must live".
September and the other Observers have since monitored Walter and Peter. In the second season's finale, September is responsible for alerting the Fringe division to the dangers of Peter being taken back by Walternate to the parallel universe, ultimately leading to their rescue attempt.
In the third season episode "The Firefly", September conducts a convoluted experiment to test Walter's resolve to give up Peter for the greater good when the time comes. We had the early, early scene in the diner, and there always seemed to be a level at which [Walter and September] met and understood each other.
John and I just sort of understood some things without having to talk about them too much which is really lovely. It was pretty much my last scene, because I had some non-dialogue stuff after that, but it was the end of our work on the series. It was a real honor to have that collaboration with Joel and John and I on the last scene that we would do.
They really have taken September and Donald to their hearts. I just started tweeting this past year and get tweets from China and Russia and all over the Spanish-speaking world, all over the place.
I had no concept of how far afield this show reached and how much people love it in so many different cultures of so many different languages.
Even then — and then when I thought that maybe we were going to be set on fire when we were in the pits at the Texas Motor Speedway — those things notwithstanding, I loved that I got to do every one of those things.
As much as it upset Josh Jackson that he had to be working while was out having all that fun. To actually know very clearly that this was the end was different. It was really nice in most ways because you could say your goodbyes and appreciate having that experience with everybody. It was odd for me because I have been such a back-and-forth presence.
But over the years that sort of dissipated, so by the end, by this last year — and because I was so much a part of the story by that point — I felt more truly and fully a part of the family, the inner family over the last two seasons, and especially this past season.
That was a very wonderful thing to feel, that I was very much a part of the family as everybody else by the end. There was a lot of crying throughout the day and a lot of laughter too. It was just a really loving and upbeat, oddly upbeat thing. This event was the final contamination that he could allow.
It would irrevocably alter the entire timeline, so he had to erase Peter from time and attempt to set things back on track. He revealed that Peter needed to be with Olivia from the Primary Universe to put everything back on track. He was snatched away by the other Observers and locked out of the universe. Before he departed, September implanted a code into Peter's iris.
This code led Peter to the beacon, which shone a light that guided a healed September back into the universe. He confirmed to Peter that he was in the right place, that Olivia was indeed Peter's Olivia, and disappeared. September resurfaced again to warn Walter that the other Observers were coming. According to Walter, the two developed a plan to rid the world of the Observers.
September began to help Walter create a plan that would rid the world of Observers. As punishment for his continued intervention, the Observers removed September's tech, which resulted in him becoming a human being with emotion. He continued to help Walter with the plan until he was taken away by Observers in Pennsylvania.
They could find no evidence incriminating "Donald," and instead placed a tracker on him. Donald's son, Michael , was an instrumental part of the plan, as he and Walter intended to send him forward to the year to change the future evolution of the Observers. Donald and Walter stored Michael in a Pocket Universe to keep him safe. At an unknown time, however, Donald returned for his son and instead put him in the custody of a family on a remote island. He disappeared shortly after and was presumed to be dead.
After Walter's memories were restored by Michael, he went into the sensory deprivation tank to try and locate September. He had a memory of the New York City landscape and was able to locate September's position. The Fringe Team tracked him down and met with him in his apartment.
September revealed much about the plan, including his relationship to Michael, as well as much about the Observers' origins. They went off to retrieve the last pieces of the plan.
While in the storage area, Donald and Walter spoke. It is here the Donald revealed that his comment "the boy has to live" in was in reference to his own son, not Peter. Once the pieces were obtained, Donald explained that he had some last minute business to attend to, promising that he would meet up with the Fringe team soon. When he returned to the lab, the team had gone to retrieve Michael, who had been captured by Windmark. Donald begins building a machine as part of the plan, but a piece of tech he had recover was no longer functioning.
He enlisted the help of December to find a replacement. Before the plan is initiated, Donald decides to take Walter's place in taking Michael to the future.
